To meet a demand from the State of Ceará and Northeastern Brazil, providing the region with agile mechanisms to promote recovery from the huge regional disparity in the preparation of personnel with a high level of qualification and technical and academic works.

To contribute both to the expansion of local intelligence and a critical mass capable of ensuring the human resources needed for the sociopolitical development of the State and its regions (North and Northeast) in the formulation and deployment of public policies. Its experience should be recognized regionally and asked for by the most diverse institutions in Northern and Northeastern Brazil.

Objectives

General objective:
To make the Professional Program in Planning and Public Policy a center of excellence in research and education in Public Policies, recognized locally and nationally.

Specific objectives:

To prepare professionals to work in all phases of the public policy cycle (agenda building; policy formulation; decision-making process; deployment; and assessment);
b) To prepare professionals so that they are able to meet institutional requirements of the Strategic Plan of the State of Ceará;
c) To deepen theoretical knowledge of the Brazilian and local reality in its political, economic, and social dimensions, establishing connections with global changes;
d) To understand the challenges of good governance and current participatory processes.
